As a result of large-scale operative-search measures undertaken, during the recent months, by operative units of the National Security Service of RA, settled criminal groups were uncovered and neutralized. The middlemen, organizers, current and former officials of the military registration and enlistment office, employees of medical centers involved in those groups, in exchange for sums received as bribes, conducted processes of relieving, on illegal bases, conscripts from compulsory military service or of providing deferment, of transferring conscripts to desirable military units, and releasing ahead of time on different diagnoses.
Based on the prepared materials, criminal cases were instituted and investigated in the Investigation Directorate of the NSS of RA, about which the public was periodically informed and was called upon to refrain from avoiding military service by such means.
In spite of that fact and of multiple warnings, the persons involved in this illegal process, directly threatening the State security, are still trying to earn money illegally.

The National Security Service, carrying out a consistent fight against such criminal occurrences and as a result of conducted operational-search measures and investigation activities, in July 2018 uncovered another case.

According to obtained preliminary data, S. B., the chief of Masis Division of Ararat Marz military registration and enlistment office of RA MoD, during the first levy of 2018 obtained nearly 7 000 USD for assisting 4 conscripts in obtaining deferment from compulsory military service on the basis of false medical diagnoses; a part of the sum he transferred, through his acquaintance, to a medical specialist of the medical center for obtaining the desirable diagnosis, and the other part of the sum – to the former employee of the Masis military registration and enlistment office reserve Major M.G to organize, via the members of the Central Medical Commission, the deferment of those conscripts.
It has been established as well that M. G, while being in office, organized the process of providing deferment to other two conscripts in exchange for 4 000 USD from each. Besides that, he took from other seven persons 150-4000 USD under the pretense of settling different issues connected with military service; however, he misappropriated the money without fulfilling what he had promised.
In the Investigation Directorate of the NSS of RA, a criminal case was instituted on the alleged crime. The Chief of Masis Division of Ararat Marz military registration and enlistment office of RA MoD, former employee and medical specialist of military registration and enlistment office are detained. They are charged with corresponding articles of the Criminal Code of RA, pre-trial restrictions have been chosen.
The preliminary investigation goes on.
